The Okinawan Karate Club of Pelham Manor is currently holding class Tuesday nights from 7:30p-8:30pm. The Club is under the direction of Kyoshi Seeger, whom we humbly thank for his unwavering support of our school. I am happy to report that Connor and Matt have rejoined the school and are finding a place for Shorin-Ryu in their lives.
Domo Arigato Gozamasu to Kyoshi Seeger and the Sensei, Sempei and students from his dojo who have volunteered their time to our humble school. A special thank you to the Heese family for their friendship and support. The enthusiasm and energy everyone brings to the dojo is contagious!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Kyoshi Mackay who took over the school after Danny's passing and who ran classes until this past June. Kyoshi Mackay was there for us during our most challenging days, including rebuilding the dojo after the basement was flooded. Domo Arigato Gozamasu Kyoshi Mackay.
It has been wonderful to see all of the visiting instructors and students, many of whom trained with Danny. There have been many Danny stories exchanged on the mat. We are grateful to Hanshi and our Shorin Ryu family, which has opened its arms and embraced Connor, Matt, and myself. I consider this the greatest tribute of all to Danny. Danny's spirit lives on in our dojo and in the hearts of those who train there.
In the words of Sensei Nichuals "Just show up!"
