Onegai- Shimasu Hanshi, Kyoshi, Sensei, and SRKUSA Deshi,
Ueshiro Cocoa Shorin-Ryu Karate Dojo was honored by the 7 February visit by Hanshi Scaglione, Kyoshi Seeger, Kyoshi Mackay, and Sensei and Deshi from our entire SRKUSA organization to participate in a weekend of vigorous training along with Dan level testing. The 7 February (Saturday) training began at 1000 with Dan level testing, which continued until 1330 when the entire Brevard County Florida Dojo Deshi joined in a spirited training session and advanced instruction in both kata and weapons from Hanshi Scaglione, Kyoshi Seeger, and Kyoshi Mackay. The training session concluded at 1600, and Dan level testing was restarted outside in the cool evening at the Florida Brevard Community College Campus and continued to early evening. It is truly impressive and inspirational when such high level kata and technique are present on the training deck. Congratulations to all Dan level deshi that tested and were promoted at our Dojo. We cherish your sweat on our Dojo deck.

February continued to be a busy month with Kyu level testing on 21 February 2009. Congratulations to our Deshi that tested. The following were promoted:

Ueshiro Cocoa Shorin Ryu Karate Dojo is moving forward under the guidance of Hanshi Scaglione. We are growing with as many as 10 new white belts attending in the last few weeks of training over a wide range of ages and including family members. Classes are held at the YMCA Cocoa Family Center located in Cocoa, Florida. The Class schedule is currently as follows, but will be changing in the near future:
Current Class Schedule (all ranks welcome): Tuesday and Thursday: 1900 – 2030 Saturday: 1000 – 1130
Future Class Schedule (all ranks welcome): Monday and Wednesday: 1900 – 2030 Saturday: 1000 - 1130
